Those Little Moments by Lisa Jones

At Easter Sunday in 2008, our then 4 year old son leans over and asks me where’s Jesus? I'm thinking ... is this a question about Jesus Rising on Easter? I quietly tell him Jesus went back to heaven, but he is with us all the time. He says, "No, he's not here, God's here, but where's Jesus?" Okay. Now what? We are in the middle of Mass and can't have a whole conversation.
He then points to the altar and says again, "God's here, where's Jesus". A huge light bulb went off suddenly and I began to smile from ear to ear. For Easter Mass, our pastor said Mass alone. There wasn't a deacon by his side. Our sweet son was thinking the priest was God and the missing deacon was Jesus.
It's those little moments you will cherish forever.

Lisa Jones - Lisa blogs at Of Sound Mind and Spirit with her sister, Shelly. Several
years ago, Lisa gave up the life of a family attorney to stay at home
to raise their daughter, with the loving support from her husband.
She and Brian now have a busy household of three young children. When
she’s not blogging with Shelly, Lisa can be found sewing, exercising,
reading, driving carpool and volunteering at her children’s schools.
During the hot summers in Houston, she can be seen outside by the pool
eating popsicles with her family. At Of Sound Mind and Spirit, Lisa writes about her Catholic faith,
family life, conservative politics, pro-life issues and books she loves
to read.
