Hello Maureen... thanks for the column and the reminder. It's Monday evening as I read your column. Monday is the first day of my (work) week -- and I purposely make my morning prayer intentions mostly gratitude related. In fact, I have a typed list of things I'm grateful for.... faith, the sacraments, my dear wife Dee, the gift of becoming a deacon, certain priests in my life, the gifts of creation, etc., etc., etc.

And just to close with a smile.... many years ago in a land far, far away -- about 10 of us neighbors in a new housing development decided to SAVE MONEY by going together, buying fencing materials, renting a post hole digger, etc... The second yard we were working in - as we were digging a good sized hole to put cement into -- there was a nearly blinding flash and a loud explosion... You guessed it -- we value-oriented men cut power to about a block and a half.... Thanksgiving that none of us were injured or worse.... Blessings. :-)
