Rocking the Cradle Catholic Giveaway
By Lisa Hendey • Jan 20th, 2010 • Category: Books, Contests, Lisa's Blog
This month, in conjunction with Catholic Moments Podcast #135 featuring author Mary Moore, we are thrilled to offer our readers the opportunity to win one of three copies of Mary's great book Rocking the Cradle CatholicRaising healthy, holy, Catholic children is no easy task. Rocking the Cradle Catholic uses humor and simple, everyday examples - from how to choose a godparent, to prioritizing your vocation and other ministry work, to teaching children about war - in order to guide parents in practical imitation of the Holy Family. Recognizing parents as the primary catechists and family as the domestic church. Rocking the Cradle Catholic is meant to offer encouragement while challenging Catholic parents to be even more committed to their vocation of marriage and family life. Each chapter includes questions for contemplation and action that can be used for personal prayer or within a group setting. To enter to win this contest, you must leave a comment on this post with a valid email address (which won’t be published or shared) before Midnight PST on February 3, 2010. I’ll draw three random winners and announce the winners when the contest has ended. Update: Our lucky winners are Denise (#71), Susan H. (#97), Christine (#23), and Christy (#104). Your prizes will be sent soon. Take a look at our other CatholicMom.com contests for more great chances to win!

I’m looking forward to reading this book. I am a graduate student of theology and a volunteer catechist for our parish. I see a huge need for ongoing faith formation for parents. It sounds like this book will help fill that gap. This is especially important during those first five years of life when the parents really are the greatest influence and primary teachers of their children.
Please make this book available on Kindle!

I just started a Woman’s Ministry called The Mary And Elizabeth Aposolate For Marriage and Motherhood. This book would be a great asset to our lending library and our mentoring program. We have a great responsibility as woman, to pass our wholly Catholic faith down to the next generation. I find that moms do not pass their faith down to their children, because they do not know their faith. You can only teach what you know and what you live. We need to birth a generation of Catholics, who know their Catholic faith, live their Catholic faith and love their Catholic faith. This book sounds like it would be an aid in educating the younger woman who have embraced the vocation of motherhood to do jjust that. Thanks for writing this boiok. I can not wait to read it and pass it on to the next generation.
hope to win this one!
Sounds like a great book. Sign me up please!

Thanks for this opportunity.
I’m always looking for good new Catholic parenting books! Please enter me!
What a great book. I got a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and wanted that knowledge so that I could thoroughly and accurately pass my faith onto my children but it has proven so challenging. For starters, how do I word it so that they can understand it? How do I explain the miracle of Christ’s birth without explaining the whole “Birds and Bees” thing.? There are many many more challenges.
This book looks so cool! My sister in law would love this!
I would LOVE to read this book. Both my husband and I are recent converts to Catholicism and there is so much about it to learn and enjoy. We have three daughters, 4, 2 and 10 days and are looking for guidance in building their faith in this trying world. Thanks for a chance to win!
I have been married for almost 19 years and I wish I would of had a book like this to help me when we were starting out. Many of my younger friends are getting married and having a family, This is going to be a great book to give them. Thanks for using your God given talent to further the Kingdom.
I am a convert, and I feel such love or the church. I would love to have an edge on giving my “cradle Catholic” boys the same love!
I could definitely use this book as I foster the Faith in the two little souls that He has entrusted me with thus far!
Would love to have a copy of this book!
I heard Mary Moore say during her interview with you that she never expected writing a book, especially since being a mom was her priority , and books take a lot of time. God bless her for writing about her faith and motherhood! Including contemplation is a great gift to her readers. I look forward to reading it. P.S. thanks for the short chapters!
I would love love love to read this book and will add it to my wish list if I don’t win!
This looks like a great book to share with parents of children in the parish. Thanks for the opportunity.

I’m going to add it to my list of books to read!
I have not read this book yet, but am very anxious to do so since I am a Catholic Mom raising, along with my husband, my two boys in the Catholic faith. Being in both Baptism and Family Ministry, I have found so many parents who are looking for the connection that has been described in Mary’s book and I would welcome receiving her book so I can use it as a resouce in my ministry to parents.
Please enter me in the contest. The book sounds great!
Sounds like a perfect book for me and a few of my girlfriends, sisters, etc. Thanks for the chance to win!!

I am forming a new group for Catholic mothers and am thinking this book would be a great aid!
I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy, and I hope it’s the free one!
As a parent and catechist I would truly enjoy the book.
I can use all the help I can get! Between my vocation as a mother and wife and my volunteering at church coordinating the nursery ministry, I’m always looking for good information and support for Catholic women!
Jamie
Sound like a great read.
I heard Mary Moore interviewed by Greg and Jennifer on The Catholics Next Door podcast and was happy to hear her again on yours. What a great book…as a mom of 8 I am always looking for good ideas!
I’d love to read this!
It doesn’t get any easier the more children you have. I cannot wait to read Mary’s book! As a convert, its these important decisions made while they’re young that I have no experience with or history behind. This books looks amazing.
I just had a new baby boy, so I am literally “rocking the cradle Catholic”! I would love to read this book — please enter me in the giveaway! Thanks!
With one 17 month old son and another arriving in May, and not being a cradle Catholic myself, I’m always looking for resources on how to raise up my little men in the faith! This book looks like an amazing resource!
I can’t wait to tell my Catholic Moms’ group about this book!!
Please enter me in this contest! I have been looking for a book or a resource or something to help give me some guidance or just some fresh ideas in raising 4 kids in this anti Catholic world. I has gotten especially challenging since the oldest 2 started school. The ideas they come home with that they heard from other kids – and the language! Very scarry.
I think I am making it by the skin of my teeth here, but enter me! If I don’t win, I am adding this to my cart with your book, Lisa!
I have recently thought about this task. I have even gone to my parish seeking a family formation so that parents would have the tools to raise true disciples, as the CCC outlines us to do. This book is definitely going on my to read list.
I would love to read this book in order to be the mother that God wants me to be.
