Thanks so much for your article. My husband was recently laid off and your story parallels ours.. except your story has ended and ours has just begun Thanks for using your gift to encourage us today! I can’t imagine what it would be like to go through a struggle without faith and the knowledge of God’s goodness and sovereignty. Thanks again.

Pat, thank you for your story, it is truly lovely and a great testament. The quote by Father Jean Baptiste made me think of a prayer I memorized years ago, whose author I do not know.
“I know nothing about this day, Oh God,
except that thy love arose and shone upon it before the sun did.
I have plans for this day, but I cannot be sure I will be able to carry them out.
I know not what lies ahead in this day, Oh God,
but thou art always present, and I will depend on thee always.”
