70 Sacrament Starters for Children…And Those Who Teach Them – Patricia Mathson believes that children learn best by doing. We can teach them about their faith, and in this case about the sacraments, she says, but a hands-on approach works even better because it involves the whole child. These simple, beautiful, and indispensable activities from an experienced DRE offer ten creative ways to celebrate and learn about each of the seven sacraments. They can be used by any catechist, beginners as well as veterans, but also by parents because they offer a great way to teach about the sacraments at home. The activities include visits to the church, prayers, crafts, Scripture readings, stories about the saints, sacrament discussions, and outreach suggestions. What a great gift book for catechists and parents!

Gospel Team - Laura Grace, has taught first grade religious education for over ten years and writes our lesson plans from St. Nicholas Chapel at the Pax River Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, Maryland. Elyse Wilson lives with her husband and six children on Yongsan Army Garrison in Seoul, Korea. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Theology. Among other things, she enjoys teaching Religious Education classes, studying her Bible, and spending time with her six children (five boys and one girl) and her husband, Col. Russell A. Wilson of the US Air Force. She hopes that her Mass worksheets will help children become more enthusiastic about their faith, and her ultimate goal is to design another worksheet that will keep her husband awake during Mass. Lisa Hendey is the founder and webmaster of CatholicMom.com and loves to color and work puzzles!

Thank you so much for these helpful tools. It’s a wonderful way to help fill in the gaps to our lesson and also tie in the gospel to our Faith Formation classes. Hopefully it will get our young ones attenative and excited about mass. Sometimes they need a little encouragement. Anyway, I really appreciate your wonderul ideas.
God Bless,
