  15. Lisa, the Ash Wednesday podcast is, by far, your best yet. I’ve listened to it several times in order to capture the essence of its many lessons. Deacon Tom’s story of the business executive and difficult penance, was excellent. Many of us are so fearful of challenges by putting up artificial walls based on fears of failing, only to find out that fears often out-weigh the actual changes required. Going to daily mass, saying the rosary, or reading the bible is merely a case of establishing a habit not unlike daily exercise. Once you get going with it, it becomes second nature. The Chris Lowney segment was very compelling not only because of the message but also due to his background of being an executive with JP Morgan being stationed in Singapore, Tokyo, London, and New York. It’s obvious that he’s not an amateur providing untested theories. Of course, it was easy for me to relate to him as I am a graduate of St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, OH. Jesuit-educated people tend to support each other. Lastly, I was flabbergasted to hear your closing prayer which I had memorized as my Lenten prayer 6 or 7 years ago but had forgotten in recent years. When I heard it, I instantly recognized it and re-dedicated to say it daily this Lent. It seems so strange to hear the exact same prayer – verbatim – that I had been saying myself- it’s almost like a ’stamp of approval’ that I had selected the proper Lenten prayer among so many that are available. Anyways, from the opening, to the main segment on “Heroic Living”, to the closing prayer – I’ll be re-playing this special podcast throughout the entire Lenten season. Thanks so much for all you do. God bless.
